About the Film Fest

Film is a powerful medium to inspire reflection and change and it’s within this that the Deconstructing Dinner Film Fest finds its roots. The event is built upon the belief that when a community gathers together over many days to listen, watch, learn and contribute, that we will become stronger in our efforts to cultivate a resilient and vibrant culture of food.

The Film Fest was created by Jon Steinman, the writer and host of the Deconstructing Dinner television/web series (2013- ) and radio/podcast series (2006-2010).

Now entering its fourth year in Nelson, British Columbia, the 2016 Fest features 12 films spread out over 5 days between October 26 and November 12. As usual, many musicians and local purveyors of good food and drink will be featured throughout the event.
